CENTER – Fourteen Knox County 4-H members recently completed rockets to exhibit at the 2024 Knox County Fair in Bloomfield.

Julie Schultz, lead 4-H Extension educator in Pierce and Wayne counties, led the two-day workshop, hosted by Nebraska Extension in Knox County on May 28 and 31 in Center. She taught the students from start to finish on how to construct their rockets.

Following the STEM – science, technology, engineering and math – rocket workshop, the 4-H members each will launch off their rockets three times on their own and finish up their respective projects by writing a report over the entire process.

The 4-H members who participated in the workshop are: Shea Arens, Crofton; Hadleigh Doerr, Bloomfield; Kashton Doerr, Bloomfield; Elliot Fuchtman, Creighton; Tucker Hanefeldt, Creighton; Baker Jansen, Crofton; Breckin Jansen, Crofton; Caleb Mackey, Bloomfield; Lane Mertens, Creighton; Reagan Novacek, Verdigre; Reed Pinkelman, Bloomfield; Knox Schumacher, Bloomfield; Tate Wortmann, Crofton; and Ty Wortmann, Crofton.

For people who are planning to attend the Knox County Fair this year, they are asked to be on the lookout for these 4-H members’ rockets inside the 4-H building at the fairgrounds.
