The Osmond-Randolph Lady Hawks have been very busy in the past few weeks, with games against Elkhorn Valley and Hartington Cedar Catholic as well as the Randolph Holiday Tournament and the Wausa Post-Holiday Tournament.
Hawks vs. Falcons
TILDEN — On Thursday, Dec. 21, the Osmond-Randolph Hawks traveled to Tilden for their last game before Christmas break against the Elkhorn Valley Falcons.
The visiting Hawks were held scoreless in the first quarter as the Falcons were able to take a 10-0 lead. The second quarter saw a scor ing explosion from the Falcons as they outpaced the Hawks 24-7 in the quarter to take a 34-7 lead into the halftime break.
The second half would continue to be a struggle for the Hawks as the talented Falcons outscored the Hawks 18-3 for a final score of 52-10.

In JV action at Elkhorn Valley on Dec. 21, the young Hawks would lose on the road 19-31.

The Hawks got out to a fast start, scoring 17 points in the first quarter while holding Winside to only 2 points. The second quarter slowed down some but the Hawks were still able to outpace Winside 13-3 to take a 30-5 lead into halftime.
The scoring picked back up in the third as Winside was able to net 8 points but the home team Hawks were able to down 15 points. Both teams scored 5 points in the final stanza as
the Osmond-Randolph Hawks were able to pick up their first win of the season via a 50-18 final score.
The Hawks were able to come away with a new program high of 34 steals as Keli Aschoff was able to come away with 12 individual steals herself, also a new program high.

The Hawks struggled to get the offense going in the first half as the visiting Cougars were able to hold the Hawks to no first-quarter points and only 4 second quarter points.
A solid defense by the Cougars helped them take a 31-4 halftime lead.
The second half saw a very competi- tive finish as the Cougars would only outscore the Hawks 20-18 for a 51-22 final score.

RANDOLPH — On Tuesday, Jan.
2, the Hawks hosted the Trojans from Cedar Catholic in the first game of the new year. The first quarter was a good defense battle as neither team was able to get the scoring rolling.
Cedar Catholic held on to a slim 8-6 advantage after the first period. The Trojans were able to extend their lead after the second quarter to take a 21-12 lead into halftime.
Some good passing and four 3's in
a row sparked the Trojan offense in the third quarter as they pulled away to cushion their lead. The Hawks would lose their first game of the new year 27-54.

The JV team was back in action on Jan. 2 against the Cedar Catholic Trojans. In a full four-quarter game, the Hawks held a slim 6-5 lead after the first quarter. Cedar Catholic would score 30 points the next two quarters to take a commanding lead for a 44-15 final in favor of the Trojans Score by Quarter

Wausa Post-Holiday Tournament WAUSA - On Friday Jan. 5, the Osmond-Randolph Hawks traveled to Wausa for the Post-Holiday Tourna- ment. In the first round, the Hawks got matched up with Niobrara-Verdigre for a rematch from the Holiday Tournament in Randolph.
In the first quarter of play, the Cou gars were able to build up a 10-point lead at 17-7. The second quarter was a lot closer but the Cougars were still able to extend their lead going into the halftime break up 28-15.
Early in the third period, the Hawks were able to cut the lead to only 11 points at 30-19. The Cougars went on a strong 30-4 run to finish out the game. After the final buzzer sounded, the scoreboard favored the Cougars by a mark of 60-23.

Vinson 0 3 0 2 Gardner 4 3 0 1 In the consolation game on Saturday, the Hawks played the host Wausa Vikings. Osmond-Randolph put together their most complete game of the season so far.
After starting the game on a 7-0 run for the Hawks, the Vikings scored 5 straight points to end the quarter 7-5
in favor of Osmond-Randolph. The second quarter saw the scoreboard become more active as the Hawks scored 12 points to the Vikings' 8, building their first half lead to a 19-13 tally at the intermission.
The third quarter saw some im pressive scoring for the Hawks, led by Sophie Gansebom's four 3's in the period, including her final 3-pointer as time expired to finish the quarter.
Gansebom scored 14 of the Hawks 20 points to lead the third-quarter charge. The visiting Hawks took a 39-24 lead going into the final quarter of play. The Vikings make one final push in the fourth quarter, but some aggres sive drives to the hoop and timely free throws by Keli Aschoff, who scored 8 of the team's final 9 points, proved to be too much for the Vikings to overcome.
Osmond-Randolph picked up their second win of the season by a 48-37 final to claim third place in the tournament.
Aschoff and Gansebom really got the offense rolling this game as they paced the Hawks with 15 and 16 points, respectively. Score by Quarter
