OSMOND — Funeral service for Raymond R. Collins, 76, of Osmond will be held at Chesapeake, VA, along with burial.
Raymond passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in Lincoln, peacefully surrounded by his family. Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond is in charge of the arrangements as is Oman Funeral Home in Chesapeake, VA. A memorial service will be held in Osmond at a later date. Ray was born July 25, 1947, in Des Moines, IA, to Russell P. and Norma A. (Miller) Collins. Ray joined the United States Navy on April 20, 1966, as Hospital Corpsman/Physician's Assistant. Ray retired from the military June 30, 1992. He later became a long haul truck driver. Ray loved traveling, nature and his family.
Left to cherish his memories are his precious wife Edna J. Collins, Christine E. (Charles) Hodge and his best friend and grandson Christopher N. Collins, and sister Paula Collins.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Norma, and brother Norman.
Ray had 28 years in the American Legion and numerous years serving as adjutant with American Legion Post 326 in Osmond. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to EMS Ambulance Fund in Osmond.
