Private family services for Janice A. Pittack, 82, of Plainview were held Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview. The Rev Jacob Tuma officiated with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview.

Private family services for Janice A. Pittack, 82, of Plainview were held Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview. The Rev Jacob Tuma officiated with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview.

Public visitation was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview.

Mrs. Pittack died May 14, 2024 at Plainview Manor. Janice was born to Walter and Hilda (Kumm) Buhrman on July 17, 1941, in Knox County. She graduated from Creighton High School in 1959. She then worked at Plainview General Hospital and married Dellis Pittack on June 4, 1961, at Golgatha Lutheran Church in rural Wausa. To this union, five daughters were born: Teresa, Brenda, Barb, Melissa, and Annette. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Foster and its Ladies' Aid. The couple farmed many years south of Plainview. She was a very crafty person, making many quilts for her family and through her church to be donated to people in need.

She is survived by daughters Teresa (Wayne) Hansen of Pierce and Barb (Bill) Bonta of Plainview; sister Betty (Butch) Babcock of Winstead, MN, and Diana Gerdes of Ashland, NE, and a brother, Dale Buhrman of Creighton; sister-in-law Dorla (Jim) Brunke of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren Kelsey (Steve) Peterson and Matthew Bonta of Plainview; step-grandchildren Shelly Taylor of Randolph and Dallas (Cheri) Hansen of Plainview; greatgrandchildren Graham and Aurora Peterson of Plainview; Megan (Mitchell) Nordhues of Randolph; Jaiden Taylor and fiancé Jesse Schmit of Randolph; Kaylee, Landon, and Aiden Hansen all of Plainview; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

She was proceeded in death by her spouse; her parents; children Brenda, Melissa, and Annette; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Jr. Bowling; brother-in-law Harold Gerdes, and step-grandson-in-law Jason Taylor.
