NORFOLK – The 51st Commencement of Northeast Community College took place on Friday, May 10, in the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. Three commencement ceremonies were held.
At 9 a.m. Applied Technology and Health and Public Services graduates participated in commencement followed by a ceremony featuring Business and Humanities and Science, Technology, Agriculture and Math (STAM) graduates at 12 p.m. Events concluded at 3 p.m. as nursing graduates received their nurse pins and participate in commencement.
As of Thursday, May 2, some 919 graduates, including those earning more than one degree, and those who completed their studies this past summer and fall, were to be listed in the commencement program. Several students have earned more than one degree.
Hunter Oestreich, a Battle Creek High School graduate, was the student speaker at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., Lisa Guenther was the faculty speaker, and Tom Wilson was the student speaker at 3 p.m.
The Northeast Media Arts program livestreamed events on-line at team-1sports.com/northeastcc. It was then uploaded on demand to Northeast’s YouTube channel.
The list of graduates includes those who are tentative Spring 2024 candidates and the graduates who completed their studies in summer and fall 2023. The following are Osmond students, unless otherwise listed.
Riley Wagner, Associate of Arts Degree. Riley is the daughter of Chris and Robin Wagner, and a 2022 graduate of Osmond High School.
Ryan Schmit, Associate of Applied Science Degree in Building Construction. Ryan is the son of John and Carol Schmit and a 2022 OHS graduate.
Patrick Vinson of Foster, Associate of Applied Science Degree in Diesel Technology. Patrick is the son of Nathan and Terin Vinson and is an OHS graduate with the Class of 2022.
Trent Moes, Associate of Applied Science Degree in Drafting, Diploma in Drafting, Certificate in Drafting.
Hudson Schultze, Diploma in Weld- ing, Certificate in Welding. Hudson is the son of Tim and Erin Schultze and a 2023 graduate of OHS.
Tucker von Rentzell, Certificate in Welding. Tucker is the son of Jason and Lisa von Rentzell and is a 2023 graduate of OHS.
Levi VanFleet, Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Technology, Certificate in Informa - tion Security, Certificate in Web and Visual Application Development.
