KEARNEY — Osmond FBLA members competed at the Nebraska State Leadership Conference in Kearney April 11-13, with several qualifying for nationals. Those qualifying for nationals will be competing in Orlando, FL, this summer.
Nationals will consist of a combination of competitions, seminars, workshops, and speakers. This is an opportunity for students to display their talents and skills at a higher rate of competition. At nationals, students will obtain effective leadership styles, communication strategies, and problem-solving techniques.
The following students placed in their events: Erica Heiman, Callie Hoffman, Anabelle Vinson — State champions in Broadcast Journalism (national qualifiers)
Keely Gubbels — Third in Digital Animation (national qualifier) James Doyle — Third in Cyber Security (national qualifier) Erin Wagner and Keely Gubbels — Fourth place in Public Service Announcement James Doyle and MatthewAlderson — Fourth place in Data Analysis (na- tional qualifier). Matthew and James qualified as a team in data analysis due to the third-place finisher not participating in that event, so they are able to compete at nationals with their fourth place finish.
MatthewAlderson — Fifth in Cyber Security Erica Heiman — Sixth place in Human Resource Management Erin Wagner — Seventh place in Public Speaking James Doyle — Eighth place in Computer Problem Solving Matthew Alderson - Honorable mention in Business Calculations The Osmond FBLA Chapter was second in Class D as largest chapter.
