HARTINGTON - Osmond High School vocal and instrumental students excelled at the District Music Contest in Osmond on Friday, April 19. Twenty-two groups received a Superior (1) or highest rating, with 14 receiving an Excellent (2) rating.
Schools in attendance at the music contest in addition to Osmond in- cluded Hartington-Newcastle Public School, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Elkhorn Valley, Plainview, Crofton, Bloomfield, Neligh-Oakdale, Ran - dolph, Verdigre, Creighton, Wausa and Niobrara.
Osmond had 36 entries in the contest this year, more than it has had in some time.
Osmond music director Christalin Ginn praised the students, saying, “I thought Friday went very well. We had more entries than any other school or any other year and they all performed very well. We finished the day with 22 superiors and 14 excellent ratings. I am so grateful to be a part of a community that is so supportive. It took everyone, students, staff, parents to make Friday happen and I am so thankful for a successful event.”
