OSMOND – Funeral services for Charlotte Athlyn Blunck, 92, of Osmond were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond with Reverend Scott Kirchoff officiating. Interment was at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Osmond. Music was provided by Lori Koehler, with congregational hymns “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” “Jesus Christ My Sure Defense,” “Asleep In Jesus” and “For All The Saints.”

Pallbearers were Andrew Blunck, Jacob Blunck, Eric Nuesch, Cody Nuesch, Jim Lynaugh and Derek Lynaugh.

Visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 1, also at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Services, or Osmond Senior Center.

Charlotte passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at Osmond General Hospital. Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond is in charge of the arrangements.

Charlotte was born on April 5, 1931, on Easter Sunday at Plainview to Henry and Lenna Fay (Miller) Schuettler. On Aug. 2, 1931, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Osmond. On Aug. 31, 1947, she

publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed by Reverend Theo Weiting at Immanuel Lutheran Church, receiving the precious gift of the Lord’s lifegiving body and blood. Charlotte attended rural schools in the Osmond and McLean area and graduated valedictorian of her class in 1949 at Osmond High School. She then attended Wayne State College and received her teach- ing certificate. After her education, Charlotte taught in rural schools in Pierce and Cedar counties for several years. She was united in marriage to Wayne C. Blunck on Aug. 3, 1952, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. After his discharge from the service, they moved to a farm northwest of Osmond where they resided for 67 years. They were blessed with two children, David and Leann, and nine grandchildren. Charlotte was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and LWML. She was an active member of the Auxiliary of Osmond Hospital, Senior Center, and American Legion Auxiliary. She made all the baby baptismal banners for 35 years until she retired. She loved the Wednesday Bible classes she attended for many years. She enjoyed carin g for her home, gardening, flowers, embroidery, was an avid reader, kept a daily journal, and refinished antique furniture. She also fed and enjoyed the

many birds that frequented their farm. Charlotte enjoyed the many bus tours she and Wayne took see the nation’s beautiful scenery.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Blunck of Osmond; son David (Ladawn) Blunck of Osmond; nine grandchildren; sister-in-law Marlene Schuettler of Bellevue, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leann Lynaugh; parents Henry and Lenna Fay Schuettler, and brother Henry Schuettler.
